New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Thursday announced a cash reward of Rs 58 crore for the Indian men’s team after their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 win.

India, led by captain Rohit Sharma, defeated New Zealand by 4 wickets in the Champions Trophy final in Dubai on 9 March, 2025.

The cash reward will honour “players, coaching and support staff and members of the men’s selection committee”, according to a BCCI statement. The selection committee is headed by former India player Ajit Agarkar.

Team India dominated the Champions Trophy tournament, registering four victories on their way to the final. They began their campaign with a six-wicket win against Bangladesh, followed by a six-wicket victory over Pakistan. Then continued their momentum with a 44-run victory over New Zealand. In the semi-final, the team defeated Australia by four wickets and booked their place in the final match.

The Champions Trophy victory came months after India won the ICC T20 World Cup in 2024.

“Winning back-to-back ICC titles is special and this reward recognises Team India’s dedication and excellence on the global stage. The cash award is a recognition of the hard work that everyone puts in behind the scenes,” said BCCI president Roger Binny.

“This was also our second ICC Trophy in 2025, following the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup triumph and it highlights the strong cricketing ecosystem in place in our country,” he added.

BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla praised the players for showcasing “remarkable composure” under pressure.

“The team has once again proved that Indian cricket is built on a strong foundation of skill, mental toughness, and a winning mentality,” he said.

The Indian men’s team will now start its World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle with a five-match series in England in June.
