Armed Forces Medical Service officers bag 32 medals at World Medical and Health Games

Lt Col Sanjeev Malik, Maj Anish George, Capt Stephen Sebastian, and Capt Dania James won 19 gold medals, 9 silver medals and 4 bronze medals.

New Delhi: The Armed Forces Medical Service (AFMS) has announced that four of its officers have won 32 medals in the 43rd World Medical and Health Games held in Saint-Tropez, France, from 16 to 23 June 2024.

Lt Col Sanjeev Malik, Maj Anish George, Capt Stephen Sebastian, and Capt Dania James have won 19 gold medals, 9 silver medals and 4 bronze medals in the largest sports event for health professionals.

According to a statement by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Director General of the Armed Forces Medical Services Lt Gen Daljit Singh  congratulated the officers for the spectacular performances.

Held first in 1978, the World Medical and Health Games are viewed as the Olympic Games for health professionals. Each year, around 2,500 participants from more than 50 nations take part in these games.
