New Delhi, Jun 6 (PTI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday congratulated Grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa on becoming the first Indian to win the prestigious Norway Chess title and the Women’s U18 Hockey Team on winning the Bronze Medal at the Asia Cup.

“Kudos to @rpraggnachess on becoming the Norway Chess Champion 2026,” Shah said in a post on X.

“You have made the nation proud with the victory earned through wholehearted dedication, brilliant moves and strategic thinking. May you continue to inspire our youngsters by bringing home more honours,” he said. Praggnanandhaa became the first Indian to win the prestigious Norway Chess title with a final-round victory over Germany’s Vincent Keymer in Oslo.
