The campaign tour will begin from Kanyakumari on 6 December and will travel across 29 states. Rahul Gandhi is expected to join in.
New Delhi: Indian Youth Congress (IYC), the youth wing of Congress, is organising a two-month long campaign tour to challenge the Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
IYC will commence the Yuva Kranti Yatra from India’s southernmost district of Kanyakumari on 6 December and it will travel across 29 states.
The campaign is scheduled to travel up north to Srinagar before coming to an end at Rajghat in New Delhi on 30 January, 2019, to coincide with the 71st death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Several senior Congress party leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, are expected to join the campaign.

Focus
During the campaign, the IYC leaders are expected to travel approximately 100-200 km every day. The leaders will also address one or two gatherings daily to reach out to the masses.
Further, the leaders will discuss several issues, including those of unemployment among the youth, rising inflation and women’s safety.
The yatra will be flagged off by Indian Youth Congress president Keshav Chand Yadav, vice president Srinivas B.V. and the organisation’s incharge Krishna Allavaru.
“BJP is trying to destroy the constitution of the country. Whenever anyone tries to raise any question regarding rising unemployment and corruption, BJP tries to create a divide between the Hindus and Muslims in the entire country,” Srinivas said.
Given the timing of the campaign, IYC will also try to galvanise young voters of the country, including first-timers, to vote for the party.
