In today’s featured cartoon, EP Unny has this hilarious take on the political situation in Nagaland where an opposition-less government is in charge once again. In the assembly polls held last month, the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP)-BJP coalition won 37 seats in the 60-member state assembly while all other parties handed in letters of support.

Alok Nirantar, too, spotlights the unique, rather ‘tricky’ situation in Nagaland, where Sharad Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has declared support to the newly-formed NDPP-BJP government.

Satish Acharya draws a cheeky cartoon based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah’s earlier statements branding the Meghalaya government as “the most corrupt”, and their party BJP subsequently extending support to Conrad Sangma’s National People’s Party in forming the new government.

Kirtish Bhat draws on the perceived hypocrisy behind the celebration of Women’s Day. The cartoon shows a woman burdened by household chores saying she has no time to accept Women’s Day wishes and will only do so when she comes by to serve tea and snacks — yet another task she is saddled with.
