The best Indian cartoons of the day, chosen by editors at ThePrint.

The selected cartoons appeared first in other publications, either in print or online or on social media and are credited appropriately.

Most of the cartoons of the day were about AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal’s unending spree of apologies. The lead cartoon by Manoj Sinha shows a repentant Kejriwal holding his ears, a pose that defines the current state of the Aam Admi Party chief. Meanwhile, cartoonist Jeet Bhati pokes fun at Kejriwal’s original vow to change politics in India and spare no one.

Shreyas Navare, in Dabs & Jabs, takes an interesting look at the prime ministers and presidents of different nations. While Narendra Modi is still struggling to finish his 2014 bowl (and ensure he gets to his next term), nothing stops Vladamir Putin and Xi Jinping from going from one term to the next. The loser remains the world’s poor.

Surendra in The Hindu illustrates the pomp and celebration around the 84th Congress Plenary. A pumped-up Rahul Gandhi stands on a chariot with Manmohan Singh at the helm, only it does not seem to have the horsepower to go ahead.

Kirtish Bhat in BBC Hindi says that the SP-BSP alliance has already taken a slice out of Yogi Aditynath government’s one-year anniversary cake. It alludes to the Adityanath-led BJP government losing the bypolls in both Gorakhpur and Phulpur to the alliance.

Amal Chakrabarti in Sangbad Pratidin makes fun of India’s political weather vane and how its predictions are off as varied opposition parties have come together from the East, West, North, South to move a no-confidence motion against the BJP government.
