New Delhi: To bring awareness about the three new criminal laws and to organise a meaningful discussion on them, the Ministry of Law and Justice will be organising a conference titled “India’s Progressive Path in the Administration of Criminal Justice System” in New Delhi, a PIB press release stated.

This conference will be held by the Chief Justice of India, Dr. Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, at the Ambedkar International Centre, Janpath on April 20, 2024. Other dignitaries include the Minister of State for the Ministry of Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal, the Attorney General of India, R. Venkataramani, the Solicitor General of India, Tushar Mehta, the Home Secretary of India, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, and others.

The purpose of organising this conference is to bring out the highlights of the three criminal laws and to facilitate meaningful interactions through technical and Q&A sessions. This conference will also provide an opportunity for the judges of various courts, advocates, academicians, representatives of law enforcement agencies, police officials, public prosecutors, district administration officials, and law students to participate in the discussions.

The conference will start with the inaugural session and end with the valedictory session. The inaugural session will focus on the overarching objectives of the new criminal law triad. This will be followed by technical sessions on each law.
