New Delhi, May 27 (PTI) Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 26.2 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, with the weather office issuing a yellow alert for heatwave conditions.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted strong surface winds with heatwave.

Among other stations, Palam recorded a minimum temperature of 27.6 degrees Celsius, 0.7 notches above normal, while Lodhi Road logged 25 degrees Celsius, 1 notch below normal.

Ridge station recorded 27.5 degrees Celsius, 0.9 notch above normal and Ayanagar registered 26.7 degrees Celsius, 0.7 notches below normal.

The maximum temperature is expected to touch 45 degrees Celsius.

Delhi’s air quality was recorded in the ‘moderate’ quality at 186 at 9 am, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

On Tuesday, the air quality deteriorated to the “very poor” category with the Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 301 at 9 am, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

According to the CPCB standards, an AQI between zero and 50 is considered “good”, 51 and 100 “satisfactory”, 101 and 200 “moderate”, 201 and 300 “poor”, 301 and 400 “very poor”, and 401 and 500 “severe”. PTI SSJ DV DV
