Thane, Sep 26 (PTI) A warehouse owner and four others were booked for allegedly storing, distributing and selling expired and damaged food items in Anjur Phata area of Bhiwandi, a police official said on Saturday.
The stock uncovered in the raid held on Thursday included rice, flour, snacks, and cold drinks, cumulatively worth Rs 10.31 lakh, the Bhoiwada police station official said.
Among those booked under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Food Safety and Standards Act are warehouse owner Hafiz Abdul Majid Khan, manager Mohammad Arshad Mohammad Husein Sheikh (43), tempo driver Mohammad Osama Sayyad Raza (24) and vehicle owner Abhinav Reddy, he said. PTI COR BNM
