Vijayawada, April 23 (PTI) The Vijayawada Railway Division of the South Central Railway Zone has recorded its highest-ever ticket-checking revenue of Rs 10 crore in the first 22 days of April.
This also marks the highest monthly earnings from ticket checking by any single division across the entire South Central Railway (SCR), said a press release on Thursday.
“Vijayawada Division recorded ticket-checking earnings of Rs 10 crore in April 2026 as of April 22, with seven days remaining in the month,” the press release said.
The revenue was generated from penalties related to ticketless travel, irregular journeys, and unbooked luggage.
The previous highest earnings were recorded in October 2025 at Rs 8.5 crore.
