Sultanpur (UP), Mar 22 (PTI) Three persons were killed and one other was seriously injured after a four-wheeler allegedly ran over them near Arjo Ishipur village on Chanda-Kadipur road on Wednesday, police said.
The incident took place in the Chanda Kotwali area of this Uttar Pradesh district in which the vehicle hit four pedestrians, killing two women on the spot, they said.
The two seriously injured were admitted to the district hospital where one of them later died, they said, adding that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
DM Jasjit Kaur and Superintendent of Police (SP) Somen Burma reached the district hospital and inquired about the incident.
SP Somen Burma said the deceased have been identified as Sadkul Nisha (45), Mahrulnisha (62) and Jhabbu Yadav alias Pradhan Yadav (65) and the injured as Deepak Pandey (35).
The investigation into the matter is going on, he said, adding that the vehicle involved in the accident will be taken into custody soon. PTI COR SAB RDT
