Kotdwar, April 20 (PTI) A 21-year-old youth was arrested on Monday for allegedly raping a minor here, police said.
The accused, identified as Milesh Chauhan alias Aryan Chauhan, is a resident of Bijnor district in Uttar Pradesh.
According to the complaint by the victim’s father, the accused entered their house, raped his 13-year-old daughter and then lured her to flee with him, the police said.
The accused then returned to the victim’s house on Sunday evening to drop her off, when a police team stationed nearby apprehended him, officials said.
A case under sections 65(1), 78(1), 137(2), and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the POCSO Act has been registered, they said.
