New Delhi: The National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) and the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) signed a State Support Agreement (SSA) and Shareholder Agreement (SHA) today, marking a significant step towards the development of key industrial clusters in Agra and Prayagraj. These agreements fall under the framework of the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor (AKIC) initiative, aimed at bolstering local manufacturing and attracting investments to strengthen the ‘Make in India’ initiative, a PIB press release stated.

The Integrated Manufacturing Clusters (IMC) in Agra and Prayagraj are expected to be major drivers of industrial and economic growth in Uttar Pradesh. The Agra cluster, spanning 1,058 acres along the city’s Inner Ring Road, offers excellent connectivity to major junctions like Delhi NCR and the Agra-Lucknow Expressway. This strategic location is anticipated to attract a diverse range of industries, with projected investments exceeding INR 3,400 crore.

The Prayagraj cluster, covering 352 acres, will focus on sectors like e-mobility, food processing, leather, garments, cycle manufacturing, and packaging. With projected investments of approximately INR 1,600 crore, this cluster aims to promote economic expansion and sectoral diversification in the region.

Shri Rajat Kumar Saini, CEO & MD, NICDC, and Shri Mayur Maheshwari, CEO, UPSIDA, signed agreements to establish a framework for developing industrial clusters. These clusters will serve as strategic hubs in Uttar Pradesh under the broader AKIC initiative, contributing to the growth of a self-reliant and globally competitive India.
