Itanagar, Oct 18 (PTI) Arunachal Pradesh Governor K T Parnaik on Sunday extended his greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of Durga Puja and the upcoming Dussehra.

In his message, the governor highlighted that both festivals symbolise the triumph of good over evil, righteousness over injustice, and truth over falsehood.

The festivals offer an opportunity for introspection and reaffirmation of values that guide society, the governor said and urged people to stand firmly against injustice, intolerance, violence and discrimination while upholding compassion, dignity, honesty and mutual respect.

Parnaik noted that Goddess Durga’s victory over the demon Mahishasura represents the strength of courage, determination and the triumph of Dharma. Similarly, Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana reinforces the enduring message that evil, regardless of its power, cannot prevail over righteousness, he said.

The governor expressed hope that the festive spirit would inspire people to follow the path of righteousness and contribute wholeheartedly to the progress and prosperity of Arunachal Pradesh and the nation. PTI COR NSD

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
