New Delhi, Jun 13 (PTI) Deepak Prakash has been made a minister in the Bihar government for a “full term” after “careful consideration” by all the NDA partners, and they will find a way out to enable him to complete his tenure, his father and RLM chief Upendra Kushwaha said on Saturday, seeking to allay speculation about the former’s political fate.

Prakash was recently appointed Panchayati Raj minister in the Bihar Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, even though he was neither an elected member of the Bihar assembly, nor the state legislative council.

Speculation about whether Prakash would continue as a minister gained ground after his name did not figure in the list of nine NDA candidates, including Bhojpuri superstar Pawan Singh and state minister Nishant Kumar, fielded for the legislative council polls.

All the nine NDA candidates were elected unopposed on Thursday.

Asked to clear the air, Kushwaha said, “This question is arising because Deepak Prakash is not a member of any House (assembly or council), and was made a minister. But he took oath of office not just because the RLM desired so. He took oath because it was the will of the NDA, including that of the BJP, the biggest partner in the coalition.” All the top NDA leaders, including those from the BJP, made Prakash a minister and they will find a way to enable him to continue his term in office, Khushwaha said.

“They must have done this after careful consideration. So there is no need to doubt their wisdom… Deepak Prakash did not become a minister for just two or four months. He has assumed the role for a full term. And believe me, he will remain a minister. Just wait and see how things turn out,” the Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) chief said.

Asked if he has got an assurance from the BJP, Kushwaha said, “When was assurance lacking from the BJP? You could ask this question only if there was no assurance.” PTI PK ARI
