Mathura (UP), Sep 6 (PTI) A 22-year-old man died after being allegedly pushed from a moving passenger train near Raya railway station following a dispute over sitting on its footrest, the Government Railway Police (GRP) said on Sunday.
The incident occurred on Saturday when Jatin, a resident of Hathras district, was travelling with his family on the Kasganj-Mathura passenger train after boarding it at Hathras station, according to a GRP statement.
When the train was passing through Raya station, Jatin allegedly got into an argument with Gajendra over sitting on the footrest of the train.
During the altercation, Gajendra allegedly pushed Jatin with the intention to kill him, causing him to fall from the moving train and lose his life after sustaining serious injuries, the statement said.
The GRP arrested Gajendra and registered a case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at GRP Mathura.
