Balrampur (UP), May 14 (PTI) Four youths riding two motorcycles had a narrow escape after a huge tree uprooted by strong winds fell on them during a storm in Balrampur, officials said on Thursday.
A CCTV video of the incident, which has surfaced on social media, is said to be from the Srinagar-Bhainsahwa road in the district.
According to officials, the four youths were travelling on two motorcycles when the tree suddenly collapsed onto the road amid strong winds on Wednesday.
The footage shows one rider managing to escape and pull out his motorcycle moments after the tree fell, while the three others riding the second motorcycle got trapped under the branches.
However, none of them suffered injuries, though one of the motorcycles was badly damaged.
Local residents said the youths later expressed relief over their escape and thanked God for saving their lives.
Balrampur Sadar Sub-Divisional Magistrate Hemant Gupta said police personnel rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident.
“With the help of villagers, the tree was removed from the road and traffic movement was restored,” Gupta said. PTI COR KIS MDO MDO
