Maharajganj (UP), Apr 23 (PTI) A family of three including a 7-year-old girl died after their motorcycle was hit head-on by a trailer here on Thursday morning, police said.
According to police, the incident took place on the Maharajganj-Nichlaul state highway near Baluhighush village, when the couple were taking their ailing daughter to a hospital.
In the impact, the woman, Saleha Khatoon, 25, and her daughter, Shahzadi, 7, were ran over by the trailer, while her husband, Naushad, 28, was thrown several feet away, police said.
Police reached the spot upon receiving information and rushed the family to the hospital where they were declared dead.
Additional Superintendent of Police Siddharth said that the bodies have been sent for a post-mortem. Prima facie the accident appeared to have occurred due to overspeeding.
