Lucknow, Aug 28 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday directed the health department and district magistrates to closely monitor the swine flu situation and ensure adequate medical arrangements at hospitals, appealing to people not to panic and seek timely testing and treatment.
The chief minister directed officials to regularly review swine flu cases in the state and ensure there is no negligence at any level, the state government said in a statement.
He ordered hospitals to keep isolation wards, essential medicines, testing kits and treatment facilities available so that patients could receive immediate care when required, it stated.
Adityanath also directed district magistrates and health officials to maintain vigilance in respective districts and regularly review healthcare arrangements.
“Any change in the swine flu situation should be communicated to the highest level in the government immediately,” the statement said, quoting the chief minister.
Adityanath appealed to people not to ignore possible symptoms of swine flu, also asserting there was no need to panic. “If symptoms appear, seek medical advice in time and get the necessary tests done,” he said, according to the statement.
