Thane, Oct 21 (PTI) Two boys, both aged 10, drowned in a pond in Maharashtra’s Navi Mumbai township on Wednesday morning, officials said.
The incident occurred at the Kopri village pond in Vashi.
The disaster management control room received an emergency alert at around 11.30 am, following which the fire brigade personnel rushed to the scene, the officials said, without specifying why the boys entered the water.
The victims, identified as Ganesh Gupta and Golu Mansuri, were later pulled out of the pond and rushed to a civic-run hospital in Vashi, where doctors declared them dead, they said.
The bodies were sent for postmortem, and the police registered a case of accidental death. PTI COR GK
