Ranchi, Apr 26 (PTI) Two persons were killed and six others sustained injuries in separate road accidents in Jharkhand’s Gumla and Latehar districts on Sunday, police said.
In Gumla district, two persons were killed, and another was seriously injured after a four-wheeler overturned near Betarkera More within Kurkura police station limits.
The deceased have been identified as Shahil Bengra (20) and Chandar Mahto (55), both residents of Ghurtani Bhanda Toli in Khunti district.
“They were taken to a hospital in Kamdara, where two of them succumbed to their injuries during treatment, while another, who sustained serious injuries, was referred to Gumla,” Kurkura OC Sanjay Munda said.
Police said the accident took place after the driver lost control of the vehicle due to speeding. The victims were returning home after attending a wedding, they added.
In a separate incident in Latehar district, four women and a driver were injured after their vehicle fell into a trench and overturned near Borsidag village within Chandwa police station limits, Chandwa police station SI Ajit Kumar said.
Four are undergoing treatment at a government hospital in Chandwa, while one was referred to RIMS, Ranchi, he said. PTI RPS RPS MNB
