Two killed in motorcycle-bicycle collision in UP’s Sultanpur

Sultanpur (UP), May 27 (PTI) Two persons were killed after a motorcycle collided with a bicycle in the Kadipur area here on Wednesday, police said.

The accident took place near Saraiya market on the Kadipur-Dostpur road, where the bicycle rider died on the spot while the injured motorcyclist succumbed on the way to the district hospital, they said.

Circle Officer Vinay Gautam said the deceased were identified as Rampoojan Nishad (50), a resident of Damodarpur and Anurag (20), a resident of Saraiya Mustafabad.

According to police, Rampoojan was on his way to his shop in Saraiya on a bicycle when a speeding motorcycle coming from the Kadipur side hit him from behind.

He died on the spot due to the impact.

The injured motorcyclist, Anurag, was first taken to a Community Health Centre and later referred to the district hospital after his condition deteriorated. However, he died on the way, the police said.

The police have sent the bodies for post-mortem examination. Further legal action is being taken, officials added. PTI COR CDN APL APL
