Faridabad, Apr 22 (PTI) Two bike-borne youths were injured after a speeding Mercedes, which had earlier collided with a BMW, hit their vehicle from behind on the Delhi-Agra National Highway in Faridabad, police said on Wednesday.
After the accident, which occurred late Tuesday night, both car drivers fled the scene.
An eyewitness, Ramsharan, said that while returning from Palwal in his car, he saw the two cars speeding near the Escorts Mujesar Metro Station and added that a few seconds later, he saw them collide.
“A white BMW and a black Mercedes were speeding on the highway. The black Mercedes was in front, while the white BMW was behind. The Mercedes struck a motorcycle from behind, causing it to fall off the road,” he said. Other eyewitnesses claimed that the drivers appeared drunk.
Shortly after the accident, the police reached the spot and removed the vehicles from the highway with the help of a crane, and restored traffic, officials said.
Rakesh, one of the injured youths, said they were on their way home when they were hit by the speeding car.
Police have seized the cars and said they are investigating the matter. PTI COR KSI AMJ AMJ
