New Delhi, Oct 20 (PTI) Two persons were injured after the gate of an amusement ride broke at a Dussehra ground in west Delhi’s Vikaspuri, police said on Tuesday.

The incident took place at around 1.36 am on Tuesday at Dussehra Ground in F Block, Vikaspuri, when the gate of a “Mixer Ride” broke, causing the two persons to fall and sustain injuries, they said.

The injured were initially taken to Mata Chanan Devi Hospital for treatment and later shifted to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment, a senior police officer said.

According to preliminary findings, the two persons fell from the ride after its gate broke. The exact circumstances leading to the incident are being investigated, he added.

The mobile crime team inspected the spot to collect evidence as part of the investigation.

A case has been registered at Vikaspuri police station under Sections 125(A) (acts endangering human life or personal safety and negligent conduct with respect to machinery).

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, including how the ride’s gate broke and whether any negligence was involved. Further investigation is underway, he said. PTI BM

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
