Muzaffarnagar (UP), Apr 30 (PTI) Two men were arrested on Thursday for allegedly repeatedly raping a 15-year-old girl after taking her to different places in the Kotwali police station area here and threatening her with dire consequences if she disclosed it to anyone, police said.
Station House Officer (SHO) Brijesh Kumar Sharma told reporters that the police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against the accused, identified as Asif (22) and Farman (35).
Both the accused have been arrested, Sharma said.
According to the complaint lodged by the victim’s mother and sister, the duo lured the minor, kept her confined at various locations over a period, subjected her to repeated sexual assault and issued life threats to ensure her silence.
The police did not specify the period when the girl was allegedly subjected to rape, saying it was part of the ongoing probe.
The matter came to light after the traumatised girl confided in her family, following which they lodged an FIR at Kotwali police station.
Senior officials have directed a thorough probe, including medical examination of the victim, to build a strong case against the accused. PTI COR ABN SMV SMV KVK KVK
