Patna, Mar 31 (PTI) Two persons were arrested for allegedly groping a woman and dragging her on a street in full public view in Bihar’s Nalanda district, police said on Tuesday.
The incident, a purported video clip of which has gone viral on social media, took place in the Noor Sarai area a few days ago, they said.
The woman had lodged a complaint on March 26, and two of the accused, Ashok Yadav and Matlu Mahto, both residents of Ajaypur village, have been arrested, they added.
Efforts were on to nab the remaining persons seen in the video, police said.
Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav condemned the “shameful incident in the home district of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar”.
“It was a gang rape attempt. Those who misbehaved with the woman tore off her clothes. The incident presents a scary picture of the collapsed law and order in Bihar,” alleged the RJD working president. PTI NAC SOM
