Hyderabad, Oct 31 (PTI) Two engineering students died after coming into contact with an electric wire at a paddy field on the city outskirts, police said on Saturday.
A group of 10 students from a private engineering college gathered at an agricultural field late on Friday night for a birthday celebration, they said.
They panicked after noticing a patrol vehicle approaching them and rode their bikes into the fields, while others ran on foot.
Soon after, the students found two of their friends lying on the ground after coming into contact with the electric wire.
One of the students approached the patrol vehicle for help and the two students were shifted to a nearby hospital. However, they had already died, he said.
The installation of the wire to protect the crop from wild boars was illegal and a case of culpable homicide was registered against him, the official added. PTI SJR SJR ROH
