Sultanpur (UP), May 11 (PTI) Two brothers were killed on Monday after being hit by a speeding vehicle near Alauddinpur village on the Akhandnagar-Belwai road under the Akhandnagar police station area, police said.

The incident took place around 2 am when the brothers were returning from Khutahan in Jaunpur district after performing DJ-related work.

A vehicle rammed into them when they were unloading equipment from their vehicle.

Both sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a community health centre in Akhandnagar, officials said.

Doctor Vishnu Swaroop Yadav, who attended to the victims at the hospital, declared the brothers dead on arrival, police said.

Station House Officer Dhirendra Kumar Verma identified the deceased as Pradeep Kumar (27) and Anil Kumar (24), residents of Saraiya Mubarak village under Akhandnagar police station limits.

“The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. Efforts are underway to trace the vehicle involved in the accident,” Verma said. PTI COR ABN KSI KSI
