Beed (Maharashtra), Sep 26 (PTI) Two people have been arrested in a house break-in case and stolen gold and silver recovered from their possession, district police said on Saturday.
A third suspect was still absconding, said Superintendent of Police Navneet Kanwat.
Burglars broke into a locked house in Ambajogai area in the third week of September and decamped with 53 tolas of gold, nearly 1.75 kg of silver, and cash.
Following the owner’s complaint on September 20, Ambajogai City Police registered a case.
Investigators scanned over 50 CCTV camera feeds and zeroed in on three suspects seen fleeing on a two-wheeler.
Acting on a tip-off on September 25 that the suspects were heading toward Parli to dispose of the stolen booty, the crime branch laid a trap and nabbed Amar Kakasaheb Thorat (23), a resident of Kranti Nagar, Ambajogai.
Interrogation led officers to his accomplice, Jagjitsingh Achalsingh Dudhani (32), a Parli resident.
Police are now searching for their associate, Mangalsingh Hirasingh Bawari. PTI COR KRK
