Tirupati, Oct 18 (PTI) TTD plans to use AI to improve the development and maintenance of gardens in Tirumala, a temple official said on Sunday.

Addressing a press conference at the Media Centre in Rambageecha-2, TTD Garden Deputy Director Srinivasulu said Tirumala has 34 gardens, of which 20 are maintained by donors and 14 by the temple administration.

AI-enabled support would help develop the gardens and improve their maintenance, he said.

Srinivasulu said devotees had appreciated the floral decorations arranged in Tirumala during the Srivari Brahmotsavams, with around 30 donors coming forward to support the initiative.

The decorations used approximately 60 tonnes of flowers, five lakh cut flowers and 80,000 seasonal flowers, he said.

The fruit-and-flower exhibition at Kalyana Vedika featured 24 concept-based floral displays designed to kindle children’s interest in the Puranas, he added.

Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams maintains 12 temples and their sub-shrines, and employs about 14,000 persons, according to its website. PTI MS SSK

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
