Tirupati, Apr 17 (PTI) The Sri Venkateswara Zoological Park on Friday received a donation of Rs 21 lakh under its animal adoption programme.
Zoo authorities said the contribution was made by a philanthropic organisation based in Punjab in support of wildlife care and conservation efforts.
“We appreciate the Rs 21 lakh donation extended towards the animal adoption programme, which will significantly support the welfare and upkeep of animals,” Tirupati Zoo curator C Selvam said in a press release.
He said the donated amount will be utilised for the maintenance, nutrition and healthcare of animals housed in the zoological park, strengthening ongoing conservation initiatives.
The curator noted that such contributions play a crucial role in improving living conditions for wildlife and sustaining long-term conservation efforts at the zoo.
