Karimnagar (Telangana), Apr 20 (PTI) A three-year-old girl died after a pack of stray dogs allegedly attacked her at a brick kiln site in Peddapalli district on Monday, official sources said.

The incident happened when the girl was playing near the workers’ residential area at a kiln on the outskirts of Katnepally village, when the canines attacked her and dragged her into nearby agricultural field.

The victim’s parents, who hail from Odisha, are employed as labourers at the brick kiln. As their child did not return home, the family members searched for her but found her dead in a field, an official said based on preliminary information.

The child’s hands and neck were found bitten and she succumbed to severe injuries, the official quoted the family members as saying.

Police shifted the body to the Government Hospital in Sultanabad mandal for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Further investigation is underway. PTI CORR VVK VVK SA
