Three more Odisha govt employees held for ‘misappropriation’ of over 9 cr public funds

Bhubaneswar, Oct 10 (PTI) Three more Odisha government employees were arrested for allegedly being involved in the “misappropriation” of public funds of around Rs 9.24 crore, taking the total number of apprehended persons in the case to nine, the vigilance department said on Saturday.

A senior accountant at the district treasury office in Bhubaneswar, a senior assistant at the Puri Road and Building Division of the Works Department and a peon working at Bhubaneswar Road and Building Division were apprehended, the anti-corruption agency said.

The case involves the alleged misappropriation of public funds amounting to around Rs 9.24 crore in the office of the Superintending Engineer, R&B Division-I, Bhubaneswar.

Six other accused were arrested on September 27 and remanded to jail custody. PTI AAM AAM BDC
