Chandigarh, Aug 8 (PTI) Three persons died after their car rammed into a stationary truck on a highway in Punjab’s Jalandhar on Saturday, police said.
They said the truck driver fled the spot after the accident.
“We received information about the accident in the morning. When we reached the spot, a truck bearing a Haryana registration number was parked on the road. The Swift car, passing through that stretch of road, rammed into it,” Station House Officer (SHO) of Division 1, Jalandhar, Rakesh Kumar, told reporters.
“Due to the impact, three car occupants died. The identities of the deceased are being ascertained,” he said.
The truck driver fled after the accident. The bodies have been sent to the civil hospital for post-mortem, the SHO said. PTI SUN SMV DIV
