Khunti, Nov 4 (PTI) Three girls, including two sisters, were allegedly raped by their close relatives in Jharkhand’s Khunti district, a senior police officer said on Wednesday.

Police arrested the three accused on Tuesday, a day after complaints were lodged at the women’s police station based on statements of the survivors, he said.

The incident took place on October 2 within Khunti police station limits.

The accused allegedly lured the girls away and took them to different places, where they sexually assaulted them.

“We have arrested the three accused in connection with the incidents. All three are close relatives of the girls and are adults. They have been booked under relevant sections of the BNS and the POCSO Act,” Khunti SP Rishabha Garg told PTI.

The survivors have undergone medical examinations. Further investigation into the case is underway, the SP said. PTI RPS RPS MNB
