Three feared drowned in Kharun river in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, Sep 5 (PTI) A school teacher and his two nephews are feared drowned in Kharun river in Chhattisgarh capital Raipur while taking bath on Monday, a police official said.

The incident took place in Murra village in the morning, Dharsinva Station House Officer (SHO) Shivendra Rajput said.

“While bathing, 15-year-old Harjeet Bharti was swept away. His school teacher uncle Lakhan Lal Banjare (60) and Shekhar Banjare (26) tried to save him but drowned as well,” he said.

Police and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel have launched a search operation but have not been able to trace the three as yet, Rajput added. PTI COR TKP BNM BNM
