Hyderabad, Sep 10 (PTI) A day after his love marriage, the house of a man, belonging to an SC community was allegedly demolished in Jogulamba Gadwal district of Telangana on Thursday by his wife’s relatives who were “opposed” to their relationship, police said.
The woman belongs to a BC community.
The incident happened in Repally village of Gadwal rural mandal on Thursday evening, they said adding no one was residing in the two-room house for the past several months and only one room was completely demolished.
The man, a driver, and the woman, who is studying college final year, are natives of Repally village.
Both of them were staying in Hyderabad and fell in love and got married on September 9, a senior police official said.
“The man along with his family members was staying in Hyderabad and no one was residing in the house at their native village and it was abandoned for the past several months,” the official said.
It seems the woman’s family and the relatives were opposed to their marriage, the official said based on preliminary investigation After learning about the man’s marriage with the woman, some relatives of the woman demolished one room of the house on Thursday evening using a tractor.
