Muzaffarpur (Bihar), May 11 (PTI) Ten boys escaped from a shelter home in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district, police said on Monday.
The shelter home is located in Narauli locality within Mushahari police station limits. The incident took place on Sunday evening, they said.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kantesh Kumar Mishra told reporters, “Police received information regarding the disappearance of 10 children from Narauli shelter home. Preliminary investigation found that the boys escaped by breaking a window grill of the shelter home.” “A case has been registered following a complaint by the shelter home’s in-charge,” he said.
The SSP said a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to probe the incident and trace the missing boys.
“Investigators are examining CCTV footage from nearby areas. Strict action will be taken against shelter home officials as well if their involvement is found,” Mishra said.
He added that additional security personnel have been deployed inside and outside the shelter home.
