Jaipur, May 10 (PTI) A 13-year-old boy, upset over being denied the use of a mobile phone, left home and boarded a Delhi-bound train, but was safely traced by railway staff and handed over to the RPF in Alwar, officials said on Sunday.

According to the North Western Railway, the boy was found travelling without a ticket during checking on the Delhi-Jaipur Double Decker Express train on May 9.

During questioning, he told the officials that he had left his home in Etawah without informing his family.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Pooja Mittal said the TTE staff immediately alerted officials, contacted the boy’s father and informed local police.

The child was counselled and later handed over to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Alwar for further action.

In a separate incident on the same train, a man posing as a fake TTE was caught allegedly collecting money from passengers without issuing receipts.

He was apprehended by railway staff and handed over to the RPF, they added. PTI AG SMV SMV SHS SHS
