Bhopal, Jul 3 (PTI) A total of 94,234 students will get Rs 25,000 each to purchase laptops under the state’s Talented Students Incentive Scheme.
The event will be held at the Kushabhau Thackeray Convention Centre here on Friday and the money will be transferred into the accounts of these students by MP Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, a statement from the government said.
This is an initiative to honour the talent of students, it quoted the CM as saying.
“This year, more than Rs 235.58 crore is being given to 94,234 students for laptops,” Yadav said.
Under the Talented Students Incentive Scheme of the state school education department, Rs 25,000 is transferred into the bank account of each student who scores 75 per cent or more marks in the Class 12 examination conducted by Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education to purchase a laptop.
“More than 500 students and teachers will take part in Friday’s programme. In 2023-24, an amount of Rs 224.27 crore was transferred into the accounts of 89,710 students. The scheme has been in operation since 2009-10 and a total of amount of Rs 1080.04 crore has been given to 4,32,016 students,” an official said. PTI MAS BNM
