Gangtok, Jun 30 (PTI) Sikkim government’s Department of Personnel on Monday issued a circular on transfer of employees to ensure that they are timely relieved and join the new place of posting.

The circular stated that it is the responsibility of departmental heads to ensure that employees are relieved immediately upon transfer and join their new postings without delay.

According to the circular, employees transferred within the same station should join their new posting immediately, while those transferred across different stations must do so within six days, excluding Sundays and government holidays.

Despite previous directives, a recent review reveals that some transferred employees continue to remain at their previous postings, and heads of departments have been submitting proposals to retain these employees rather than effecting the transfer.

Failure to adhere to these directives will result in disciplinary action against the concerned Heads of Departments.

Furthermore, employees who do not comply with transfer orders and related instructions will be posted to the Directorate of Coordination under the Home Department. The circular calls for strict enforcement to ensure smooth transfers and uphold administrative discipline across departments. PTI COR RG
