Jaipur, Sep 2 (PTI) Former member of Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) Ramuram Raika, arrested in connection with the sub-inspector recruitment exam paper leak case, was sent to six-day police remand on Monday by a court here, an official said.
Raika was arrested on Sunday night by the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Rajasthan Police for allegedly providing the paper of the exam held in 2021 to his two children who topped the exam.
On Monday, he was produced before a court where CJM Mandvi Rajvi sent him to six-day police remand for interrogation in the case.
While Raika was arrested Sunday night, his son and daughter, besides three other trainees, were arrested before him in the day for their alleged involvement in the paper leak.
“The former RPSC member was arrested late on Sunday for providing the sub-inspector recruitment exam paper to his children. He was presented before the court today from where he was sent to six-day police remand,” ADG of SOG V K Singh told PTI.
The other five accused were produced before a court on Sunday which sent them to police remand till September 7, the official said.
According to an official statement, Raika’s daughter Shobha and son Devesh were arrested on Sunday.
The other three trainees included Manju Devi, Avinash Palsania and Vijendra Kumar, the statement read.
All five trainees were taken into custody from the Rajasthan Police Academy (RPA) and brought to the SOG office for interrogation on Saturday.
So far, three separate charge sheets have been presented against 61 accused in the Sub-Inspector Recruitment Exam-2021 paper leak case.
Among the 61 accused, 33 are trainee sub-inspectors, four are selected candidates who did not join the service and 24 are their associates who were also linked with the paper leak gang, police said.
