Shimla, Jun 29 (PTI) Himachal Pradesh Governor Kavinder Gupta said on Monday said that Shoolini Mela is not merely a cultural celebration but a reflection of Himachal Pradesh’s rich heritage, traditions and deep-rooted faith and such festivals strengthen social harmony, preserve the state’s cultural identity and promote tourism.

Presided over the closing ceremony of the national-level Shoolini Fair at Solan on Sunday evening, the governor congratulated the district administration and the Shoolini Mela Committee for organizing the historic fair in a well-coordinated, vibrant and traditional manner, according to an official statement.

The governor released a commemorative magazine dedicated to the Shoolini Mela, highlighting its historical, cultural and religious significance. Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil felicitated the governor on the occasion.

Gupta also presented badges to the newly inducted lifetime members of the Solan Red Cross Society and lauded their commitment towards humanitarian service and community welfare.
