Amethi, Jul 25 (PTI) Seven wagons of a urea-laden freight train derailed near Sindurwa railway station in Amethi district on Saturday morning, disrupting rail movement to the Indorama fertiliser plant, police said.
Passenger train services on the Lucknow-Sultanpur route remained unaffected.
The freight train had departed around 5 am when seven of its wagons derailed on the stretch between the fertiliser factory and Sindurwa railway station, police said.
Station House Officer Mukesh Kumar said no one was injured in the incident.
He said restoration work was underway to repair the damaged track and resume rail movement to the factory.
The officer added that the derailment has not affected train operations on the Lucknow-Sultanpur railway route, where services are continuing normally. PTI COR CDN NB
