Itanagar, Apr 16 (PTI) The self-enumeration process under the house listing and housing census for Census 2027 began across Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu and his deputy Chowna Mein also took part in the process in Itanagar and Namsai, respectively.

In a social media post, Khandu wrote, “Took part in the self-enumeration phase of the House listing and Housing Census under Census 2027, completing my own self-enumeration for the very first time through geo-tagging and digital mapping.” “I urge every household to participate actively during the self-enumeration phase and extend full cooperation to enumerators during the field visits. Ensure that your information is complete and correct,” he said.

He appealed to people to provide accurate information to census enumerators.

Mein completed his self-enumeration at the Namsai deputy commissioner’s office.

According to an official report, Mein urged citizens to cooperate with census officials and provide accurate information.

He said active participation is essential for ensuring reliable data, which will support effective planning and development at both the state and national levels.

Namsai MLA Chau Zingnu Namchoom and Namsai zilla parishad chairperson Chau Sujana Namchoom also completed their self-enumeration and encouraged citizens to actively engage in this important national exercise.

After the self-enumeration phase, the house listing and housing census (HLO) field operations will begin on May 1. PTI CORR MNB
