Satyendar Jain in jail because of ‘scams’ under Kejriwal govt: Delhi CM Rekha Gupta

New Delhi, Aug 19 (PTI) The “scams” under the previous Kejriwal government are now coming to light, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta alleged on Wednesday after the arrest of AAP leader Satyendar Jain.

She said that 19 reports of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India tabled in the Delhi Assembly revealed the corruption under the AAP government and the investigative agencies are taking action on them.

Jain and former Delhi Jal Board (DJB) CEO Udit Prakash Rai are among six persons arrested by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) in connection with an alleged corruption case involving the tendering process for sewage treatment plant projects of the Board, officials said The former Delhi minister and his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) alleged that he was being targeted due to political vendetta and linked the arrest to the upcoming Punjab polls. Jain is AAP’s co-in-charge for the state.

Asked about Jain’s arrest, Chief Minister Gupta told reporters on the sidelines of an event that her government ensured the tabling of 19 CAG reports “showing each scam of the previous AAP government” in Delhi. Action is being ensured on all these CAG reports, she said.

“The seeds sown by them are now coming to light. Jain has gone to jail because of the scam committed by him in Delhi Jal Board (DJB). Action is underway and the agencies are doing their work,” she said. PTI VIT RT
