Nanded, Apr 30 (PTI) Nanded district in Maharashtra has secured the highest crop insurance payout in the state under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, with Rs 813.93 crore sanctioned in the first phase, officials said.
The total payout is expected to exceed Rs 900 crore once claims from 21 pending revenue circles are cleared, they said.
According to district administration data, a total of 4,34,819 farmers are covered under the scheme, with 8,29,737 insurance applications filed. The insured area stands at 5,13,900 hectares, while the affected area has been recorded at 7,27,932 hectares.
