India is celebrating its 77th Republic Day. To mark the occasion, a parade will be held in New Delhi, as has been the tradition since this day was first observed in 1950 to mark adoption of the Constitution.
This year, the theme for the Republic Day celebration is “150 years of Vande Mataram”.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President António Costa will attend the parade at Kartavya Path as chief guests.
The Republic Day Parade 2026 will also be attended by nearly 10,000 special invitees.
