Gorakhpur, Jul 22 (PTI) A Ram Katha is being organised at Gorakhnath temple here from July 23, with organisers saying Gorakshapeethadhishwar and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will attend the event.
The Katha will conclude on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima on July 29.
Temple’s head priest, Yogi Kamalnath, said, “In the Sanatan tradition, the Guru-disciple relationship is beyond definition in words.” Continuing that tradition, the Gorakshapeeth is organising a Ram Katha at the Mahant Digvijaynath Smriti Bhavan of the Gorakhnath temple, he said.
Acharya Shantanu Maharaj from Prayagraj will recite and narrate the Katha, he informed.
He added that the Katha will commence after a shobha yatra by 151 Vedic students.
Inviting all devotees, Kamalnath said the timings are 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm and it will also be broadcast live on all the social media platforms of the temple.
On the day of Guru Purnima, the traditional programmes of special worship, Ashirvachan, Bhajan and Sahbhoj will also be held, the head priest said. PTI NAV APL
