Jaipur, Apr 30 (PTI) The Rajasthan Excise Department will launch a special enforcement drive from May 1 to May 15 to curb illegal liquor trade across the state, officials said on Thursday.
Excise Commissioner Namit Mehta has directed strict action under a zero-tolerance policy against illegal manufacture, storage, transportation and sale of liquor, including smuggling from other states.
The officials said enforcement teams will conduct patrols, set up checkpoints and carry out raids, while coordinating with police to monitor key routes and toll plazas for movement of illicit consignments.
The department has also ordered strict compliance at licensed shops, ensuring liquor is sold at the prescribed MRP with proper holograms. Action will be taken against violations.
Checks will be intensified at hotels, bars, dhabas and event venues to detect unlicensed sale of liquor, with cases to be registered in case of violations.
Regular monitoring and district-wise reviews will be carried out during the campaign, the officials added. PTI AG SMV ZMN
